9 Reasons Why You Should Start
a Multi Level Marketing Business

Here are nine reasons why starting a multi level marketing business with a good company might be a good way for you to own your own home based business:

1. Minimal Start-up Investment

Becoming a distributor with a good MLM company costs very little. Realistically, you can get a good start in multi level marketing for just a few hundred dollars. That would include the start-up kit from the company, some additional training materials, some marketing aids, and products for your personal use.

Purchasing additional training materials, marketing aids, and products are not mandatory. But these items will be very helpful in making your multi level marketing business successful, and you’ll need to invest in them at some point.

I especially recommend purchasing some products for your personal use. After all, you can’t reasonably expect to successfully market products you don't use yourself. When you consider the income potential of a multi level marketing business, a few hundred dollars is a very small investment and money well spent.

2. Flexible Hours

One of the greatest benefits of being in the multi level marketing business is the time flexibility. In MLM you’re working for yourself, so you decide how many hours you’ll work and when. You can do it part time or full time.

Whatever you decide to do, it's essential that you commit to working a certain number of hours per week on your business in order to become successful. Get with your sponsor. Share your goals with her and she can help you determine how many hours you’ll need to commit to working each week in order to achieve your goals.

The beauty is you can easily fit doing your business into your existing schedule no matter how busy you may be. In fact, because network marketing is conversational marketing, you can work your business into any activity you already engage in where you’re with people. That includes the internet. All it takes is a little training and practice. You’ll be amazed at how easy, natural, and fun it can be.

3. Excellent Income Potential

In multi level marketing there’s a retail markup on the products you sell personally. In addition, a good company will allocate a generous percentage of every wholesale dollar back to its distributors for overrides and bonuses on group sales volumes. So, as you sponsor other distributors and your downline organization grows, you can qualify to receive overrides and bonuses on the sales they make.

4. No Large Inventory to Maintain

With a good network marketing company, your customers can place orders directly with the company via toll free telephone, fax, the internet, or even snail mail. In either case you'll receive credit for the order because the customer has to give your name and distributor number when placing their order.

The company then collects the payment and ships the products directly to your customer. You'll receive the profit as part of your weekly or monthly check. So you'll rarely, if ever, have to carry inventory or handle your customer's money. Of course, it's a good practice to stock a small amount of your more popular products to service the immediate needs of new customers. But the choice is yours.

5. Easy to Do

In the course of your day to day living you recommend movies, restaurants, and other products and services to friends and acquaintances based on your own experience. This is called "word of mouth advertising" and is widely recognized as the most effective form of advertising there is. With a multi level marketing business you do exactly the same thing, and get paid for it. I call this "conversational marketing" or "people to people marketing".

6. Minimal Paperwork

With the aid of advanced computer technology, a good company can handle virtually all records and paperwork. Sales volumes, retail profits, overrides, and bonuses are all tracked by computer. Every month the company issues a detailed computer printout of sales volumes for you and your downline organization, and pays your retail profit, overrides and bonuses.

The company also collects shipping fees and applicable sales taxes. This is all designed to enable you to spend your time marketing products and building a productive organization, which is how you make the serious money.

7. Training and Support

As an independent distributor you’re in business for yourself but not by yourself. Multi level marketing is a business of duplication. Every good company has successful distributors who have developed company specific training materials and recruiting aids that are designed to help new distributors succeed in MLM. In addition, there is a large and growing body of generic training and recruiting material available both online and off.

8. Personal Growth

In MLM you have an opportunity not only to create an asset that can set you financially free, but an opportunity to experience tremendous personal growth as well. The growth you experience will, among other things, enable you to better handle the success that'll come your way if you do the business effectively.

The importance of preparing for success is often overlooked in other fields of endeavor. But in multi level marketing, that preparation is actually part of the success process. What a tremendous bonus.

9. Relationships

Because multi level marketing is people to people marketing, a natural outgrowth of doing this business is the many wonderful relationships you'll enter into, both with people who decide to join you, and those who choose not to. That's what MLM is all about.

Instead of fighting tooth and nail and destroying relationships along the way just to get ahead, as is often the case in the conventional business world, multi level marketing actually requires you to build relationships and encourage the success of others in order to become successful yourself. It is truly win/win.

A Final Thought

There are stories galore about people who've started their own multi level marketing business and become very successful. These people come from all walks of life, including yours, I'm sure.

Many were already financially successful. They saw multi level marketing as a way to generate a substantial income without spending 60 to 70 hours a week on the corporate or professional treadmill.

Many had plenty of free time but not enough money. They saw multi level marketing as a way to earn enough money to enjoy their free time instead of clipping coupons and pinching pennies to just get by.

And many had little money and little free time. They saw multi level marketing as a way to have a lot more of both.

In spite of the varied backgrounds of people who have achieved their ideal lifestyle through network marketing, they all saw the tremendous potential that a multi level marketing business offers.

Is a multi level marketing business the right fit for you? In the end, only you can answer that.
