Explore a Reciprocal Links Arrangement with Us

Home Based Business School is always interested in exploring reciprocal links arrangements with other quality theme based content sites. Rather than assume that everyone knows what it actually is, I'll give you a brief overview.

Reciprocal linking is when two websites each place a link from their site to the other site in order to promote mutual traffic. For example, if the Home Based Business School website links to another website, and that website links back to the Home Based Business School website, the sites would be reciprocally linked.

This is also know as exchanging backlinks. The goal of this kind of link exchange is to achieve higher search engine rankings.

Exchanging links with other sites is an important part of search engine optimization efforts because search engines, like Google, use link popularity to rank websites for relevancy. And, of course, everyone wants their site to be as close to the top of search engine rankings as possible.

It's a common practice for website owners to submit their sites to link exchange directories. In addition to using directories, some site owners will also seek out link exchanges by actively reaching out to other site owners who might be interested in exchanging links.

Typically the sites exchanging links should have related themes without necessarily being direct competitors. For example, a site with a theme of affiliate marketing would probably be a good exchange partner with Home Based Business School because our theme is more broad than just affiliate marketing.

At the same time, a site that has a general theme having to do with starting and operating a home based business may not be a very good match for us because we have the same theme and could be direct competitors.

Many would argue that linking to a very similar site, or even a direct competitor's site is still a good thing because it provides the visitor with a broader array of information on the topic he or she is searching for.

At Home Based Business School we make these decisions on a case by case basis. If a very similar site, or a direct competitor wants to link with us and they have a site with well written, relevant content, we'll probably exchange links with them. But if they lack quality content or their site is overly commercial, we probably won't.

We take our reciprocal link arrangements very seriously. We do not link to sites just for the sake of obtaining a link back to our site. We view reciprocal linking as an opportunity for both sites to provide additional value to our visitors.
